The winners of last year's SERIE A are pretty confident of knocking down mighty AC Milan and Juventus to retain their Italian league. But its Champions League on what they have set their eyes. The last time Inter won the trophy was back in 1964-65 and were runners-up the next year and since then they are lacking only this major trophy.
Mourinho provided them with an almost immediate breakthrough by winning them the ITALIAN LEAGUE. Faced with a huge challenge after leaving Chelsea and had to battle it out to prove his credentials ,but all has settled now. Inter have got former Barcelona hitman Eto'o and midfielder Hleb as a compensation for their most successful player over the past few years - Zlatan . With Viera and Cambiasso solid in the centre mid and Hleb should be in his creative best on the left with veteran Zanneti on right.

What INTER really lack is a creative midfielder which explains Mourinho's quest for Deco and Sampdoria's Cassano. INTER have also added the services of Motta and Diego Milito from FC Genoa which have extended Inter's attacking force with Eto'o, Trezeguet, Ballotelo. The defence is well constructed with the arrival of Lucio from Bayern Munchen who will play alongside Cordoba in the centre and Maicon on the right. Maxwell's departure is met with grief but Lucio would perfectly fill in the void left by him.
