FIFA RANKING: 13
Greece have only been once in a World Cup before in USA 1994. Back then, they lost all their matches, conceding 10 goals and scoring none. But they managed to win the EURO in 2004 which puts them on level with Holland, Spain and England in terms of international trophies. The Greeks will employ a 4-5-1 formation, strong defensively and will hope goals from their star player in the EURO 2004, Theo Gekas.
THE MANAGER
Otto Rehhagel, known as 'King Otto' back in Greece, is a deliverer of success. He has won 2 League titles, 2 German Cups and the Uefa Cup with Werder Bremen. And not to forget, he gave Greece their only international trophy in EURO 2004 which they can be proud of.

MAN TO WATCH
Theo Gekas
The Greeks can depend on thier EURO 2004 star Theo Gekas to bang in the goals. He scored 10 goals in the EURO and he will be expected to do the same now.
FP VERDICT
The Greeks have a defence-minded strategy and will be employing a 4-5-1 formation. Their counter attacking play will prove good against an attacking team like Argentina. But its the results against South Korea and Nigeria that will decide whether Greece can go through or not. If they can find the odd goal against the other 2 teams, they are sure to qualify to the knockout stages.
